About

MY BACKGROUND

I am a theoretical linguist turned applied linguist. I graduated with my Ph.D in Linguistics from the University of Washington, Seattle. Under the supervision of Edith Aldridge, my dissertation work centered on the DP structures and relative clauses in Cantonese and Mandarin. At present, my research interests lie in CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) and the application of Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory in language teaching and learning. I am currently an Assistant Professor of TESOL in the Modern Languages Department at the State University of New York at Cortland.
